Sophia LaBarge

Hi! I’m Sophia LaBarge. I started learning how to do hair from my grandmother when I was 15 years old and went to beauty school the following year at C.S. Monroe Technology School. I worked as salon assistants for years (even while in school) and eventually got behind the chair in 2011 at Hair Cuttery. Within a year, I became the assistant salon leader. I moved from there to Arlington and worked at Salon Anu until 2016 where I was featured in Arlington Magazine twice. In 2015, I moved to the Grooming Lounge where I honed in on men’s grooming (cuts, beard trims and shaves). I taught classes on men’s styling and all new hires from 2017 on. Though I only did men’s cuts at GL, I maintained a clientele base of women’s cuts and color throughout my time there. Now that I’m starting my own journey with Shadow Hair Studio, I want to combine my passion for men’s grooming and women’s styling.
