Cover Up Tattoos
After receiving a degree in painting from the Florida School of the Arts, I joined the military. I spent six years in the Navy as a nuclear mechanic on a submarine in the North Atlantic, which left me with a desire to find a more people-friendly profession.
On a whim, I purchased a bunch of tattoo equipment and started working on some brave co-workers. Everyone turned out fine, so I kept at it. Shortly after I left the service I stumbled upon a shop in Willington, CT.
It introduced me to working in a custom shop environment. After two years of exclusively tattooing though, I grew restless and went back to school. In 2011, I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Illustration from the University of Connecticut.
I was never a fan of loud and crowded tattoo shops so I opened my own place called RLMG Tattoos. The shop was a runaway success, but eventually the cold winters started wearing on my wife, Liz and I. We decided to move to my home state of Florida because of the delicious food and year-round sunshine. In 2016, I opened a new RLMG Tattoos in downtown Orlando. In 2018, I moved the shop to Longwood, and renamed it Sandtiger Tattoos.
Fast forward to today, the shop goes by the name Phil Morgan Tattoos, to convey the feeling of complete transparency and accountability that I demand of myself. Although the shop name has changed, my mission and passion to serve my clientele at the highest level hasn’t wavered a bit.
I operate as a one-client-per-day studio, which allows me to focus on you exclusively. We work together to design your tattoo with your personality, interests, stories, and experiences at the heart of the narrative.
