Kendal Pierce

Kendal has been a stylist on the northside of Chicago for over ten years. After a decade behind someone else's chair, they are so excited to welcome their clients into a safe space all their own and give them each the one on one attention that isn't possible in a larger salon. 

 Their clientele spans a wide range of textures and styles from long fine hair like their own, to tight gravity defining curls. Kendal uses both wet and dry cutting techniques depending on the hair texture and desired outcome. They have continued education from Vidal Sassoon resulting in a lifelong love of bobs and precision, and frequently use Ouidad cutting methods for curly hair. Although they consider themselves a well rounded colorist, Kendal has always had a soft spot for dimensional "lived-in" color and coppery reds. They believe in helping a client express their own personal style through their hair, rather than pushing clients towards specific trends. Kendal is also passionate about styling and coloring human wigs and extensions, whether they be for performers, trans women, medical patients, or just for fun. 

Color corrections and appointments combining keratins/extensions with color should reach out directly via email or Instagram, as the timing of these appointments varies too greatly for online booking. Kendal James Hair uses Redken products for color, Olaplex haircare, and whatever they like at the moment for styling.  As a non-binary trans woman herself, Kendal hopes to create a queer friendly space to connect with and be inspired by their peers in the LGBTQIA+ community in Chicago. 

 In their free time, Kendal enjoys learning new skills, vintage furniture and restoration, caring for too many houseplants, sewing, and Britney Spears.
